Job summary

Mitie is seeking experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

You will protect DWP staff, visitors and property, conduct patrols, respond to emergencies, and liaise with authorities while delivering high-quality customer service. A valid DS Licence is essential, with a strong focus on safety and reporting incidents.

Qualifications

• Prior security experience required.
• Valid DS Licence required.
• Ability to take proactive measures to mitigate disruption, loss or damage.
• Demonstrated judgement and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors and property.
• Conduct regular patrols to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service and assist staff and visitors with security matters.
• Perform routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures and regulations.
• Identify and report Health & Safety hazards on site.
• Remain vigilant to threats and take action to prevent escalation.
• Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers.
• Complete accurate incident notebook entries for the Incident Report process.
• Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

• Identify and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action before situations escalates.
• Maintain professional conduct when managing difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries promptly following any incident, which will be utilised as part of the Incident Report process.
• Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Contact emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
