Job summary

Securitas is hiring a Security Officer for our Puriton location. You will protect staff, property and assets while delivering high standards of customer service and upholding Securitas values.

Role requires a valid SIA licence, driving licence, and flexibility to work days, nights and weekends. 5-year work history in the UK is needed; strong English communication is essential.

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and site access.
• Manage keys, access passes, and lost property.
• Enforce traffic and parking rules.
• Maintain equipment and records.

Hours: 42 hours 4 on and 4 off, 12 hours shift , days, nights, and weekends

To provide a security service at the working location in line with the Assignment Instructions and customer requirements, the Security Officer will protect the customer's employees, property, and other assets while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

The Security Officer will deliver the highest levels of customer service, consistently demonstrating Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. The Security Officer will act as a professional ambassador for Securitas at all times. (NB: the prospective Security Officer must have acquired the full SIA licence before being able to start work on operational shifts).

Job Description

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Welcoming and assisting staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Conducting regular safety and security patrols.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Supporting emergency protocols, including evacuations and searches.
• Keeping vigilant, reporting incidents, and preventing disruption.
• Accurately maintaining records of all activity and handovers.

Security & Site Protection

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and site access.
• Conduct security patrols.
• Manage keys, access passes, and lost property.
• Enforce traffic and parking rules.
• Maintain equipment and records.

Health & Safety

• Support staff, visitors, and contractors.
• Follow and promote health & safety procedures.
• Report hazards, faults, and incidents.
• Keep emergency routes clear.
• Respond to emergencies and fire alarms.
• Monitor and report First Aid equipment usage.
