Job summary

Securitas UK in Cambridge is seeking a Security Officer to protect people, property and information by following assignment instructions and upholding high standards of integrity and vigilance.

You will monitor CCTV, alarms and conduct patrols on site, manage access, support traffic and parking, and safeguard the premises while delivering reliable customer service. BPSS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence.
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Able to work weekends.
• British nationality and UK residency for the past 5 years.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, fire and intruder alarms and respond to incidents.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as instructed.
• Manage keys and lock/unlock facilities per procedures.
• Issue visitor/contractor passes and control access.
• Provide information and support to staff, visitors and contractors.

We are recruiting a Security Officer to deliver a professional and reliable service at a well-established organisation. In this role, you will help protect employees, visitors, and site assets by following assignment instructions and maintaining the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the safe and secure day-to-day operations of a busy site environment.

As a Security Officer, your key responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, fire, and intruder alarm systems, conducting both internal and external patrols, and preventing unauthorised access to the premises. You will also assist with traffic management and parking enforcement, carry out routine checks of security equipment, and manage key holding duties including locking and unlocking facilities. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone proactive, attentive, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times.

Responsibilities

Job Description

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
• Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises
