Job summary

OCS is seeking a Security Officer for a 4 on 4 off Just Nights schedule at a busy site in the Bournemouth area. You will guard people, property and assets and provide a professional, approachable service to staff and visitors.

The role requires an SIA licence, UK right to work, and prior security experience. You will monitor security systems, patrol the site, control access and uphold health and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

• Right to work in the UK confirmed.
• Valid SIA Licence holder required.
• Previous experience in a security role preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of buildings, personnel and visitors across the site.
• Act as first point of contact, delivering a professional, friendly and helpful service.
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems; respond to incidents.
• Follow Health & Safety policies and report hazards, damage or defects.
• Control access points, barriers and traffic management across the site.
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure security procedures are followed.

You will be part of a team that takes pride in high standards, strong customer service, and proactive security management, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently at all times.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

• Maintain the safety and security of buildings, personnel, and visitors across the site
• Act as a first point of contact, providing a professional, friendly and helpful service
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems, responding appropriately to incidents
• Support a safe working environment by following Health & Safety policies and reporting hazards, damage, or defects
• Control access points, barriers, and support traffic management across the site
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure security procedures are consistently followed

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Valid SIA Licence
• Previous experience in a security role
• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Experience working in a busy or public-facing environment
• Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to duties
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
