Job summary

Securitas is hiring a Security Officer for Basildon, Baseline SS14 area. The role covers 56 hours per week across days and nights, including weekends, with BPSS/SC clearance requirements and UK residency history. You will monitor CCTV, manage access, and protect people, property and assets while delivering first-class service.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• A valid SIA Licence (SG or DS).
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow security procedures.
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
• Previous security, customer service, military or emergency services experience is desirable.
• Must achieve BPSS and Security Check (SC) Clearance; British National and UK residence 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, fire alarm and intruder alarm systems; respond to incidents.
• Carry out regular internal and external security patrols as instructed.
• Conduct routine checks and testing of security equipment.

• Maintain logs, incident reports and visitor passes as required.
• Provide professional, customer-focused service to staff, visitors and contractors.
• Report security concerns promptly and take appropriate action.

Hours: 56 hours per week: Working 7 days on, 3 days off, days & nights

Working in line with site procedures and client requirements, the Security Officer will help maintain a safe and secure environment, consistently demonstrating professionalism, integrity, vigilance, and respect for everyone on site.

The Security Officer role includes conducting internal and external patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, controlling site access, issuing visitor passes, managing keys, and carrying out locking and unlocking duties. You will maintain accurate records, support traffic and parking management, undertake routine equipment checks, and respond appropriately to security incidents, lost property, and other site-related matters.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Maintain accurate records, logbooks and incident reports in line with site requirements.
• Issue visitor and contractor passes, ensuring all access procedures are followed correctly.
• Provide a professional, friendly and customer-focused service to staff, visitors and contractors.
• Offer support, guidance and site information while ensuring the security and safeguarding of people, property and assets.
• Report security concerns, hazards and incidents promptly and take appropriate action when required.
