Job summary

Attribution Search is seeking a Security Master Specialist to join its Technology Function within a premier hedge fund environment. You will design and build the Security Master, IBOR, and reference data systems, ensuring data integrity across multiple platforms.

You will own vendor relationships with data providers, drive governance, and lead a team as this capability grows. Prior buy-side experience and strong Python skills are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building, overhauling, or owning a Security Master/IBOR from the ground up.
• Strong Python ability.
• Experience in a hedge fund or buy-side environment is required.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, Markit, S&P and other reference data providers.
• Understanding of reference data governance, data quality and investment records management.
• Able to communicate with senior stakeholders and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building the firm's Security Master, IBOR, and Reference Data systems.
• Establishing data models, governance standards, quality controls, and operational processes.
• Owning the consistency and integrity of investment records across multiple systems and data sources.
• Integrating and normalising data from vendors including Bloomberg, S&P, Markit, and other market data providers.
• Acting as the owner of the firm's market data infrastructure, entitlements, and data distribution processes.
• Managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, onboarding, and optimisation initiatives.
• Partnering closely with Risk, Product Control, Operations, and Portfolio Management teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Building tooling, automation, workflows, and documentation to improve efficiency and data quality.
