Job summary

Right Now Group in London Heathrow area is seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead a security operation within a highly secure, specialist logistics environment. You will report to senior management and work across the business to ensure security is integrated into everyday operations.

The role focuses on people leadership, decision-making, and hands-on improvement of security procedures, CCTV/alarm systems and incident handling, with strong collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Security Operations, Protection or Risk Management.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a security team.
• Knowledge of physical/site security, access control, CCTV and alarms.
• Experience managing incidents and investigations in secure environments.
• Able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Security Manager to join a leading international organisation operating within a highly secure, specialist logistics environment in the Heathrow area.

This is a key leadership appointment within the business, taking responsibility for the day-to-day security operation while working closely with senior management, operational teams and the wider organisation.

The successful candidate will need a strong background within security; however, this appointment is just as much about leadership style, communication and teamwork as it is technical security experience.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, visible and collaborative. Someone who can work autonomously and make confident decisions when required, but who doesn't operate in isolation.

The Security Manager will be expected to build strong relationships throughout the organisation, understand the operational requirements of different departments and ensure Security works effectively alongside the wider business.

You will lead and develop the security team, manage incidents and investigations, oversee physical security procedures and systems, identify potential risks and continuously look for opportunities to strengthen the overall security operation.

Responsibilities of the Security Manager:

• Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents and operational security concerns.
• Manage security investigations, escalation logs and subsequent corrective actions.
• Ensure incidents are appropriately investigated, documented and followed through to conclusion.
• Develop effective processes and controls around security incidents and investigations.
• Review existing security procedures and identify potential vulnerabilities or areas for improvement.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders responsible for CCTV, alarms, access-control systems and other security technology.
• Ensure security systems are effectively monitored and any issues or escalations are appropriately resolved.
• Review security risks, operational requirements, performance and resource requirements.
• Provide practical security guidance and support to managers and colleagues throughout the organisation.
• Communicate security requirements clearly and effectively across different departments and levels of seniority.
• Promote a positive, proactive and collaborative security culture throughout the business.

• Strong previous experience within Security Operations, Protection, Risk Management or a similarly security-sensitive environment.
• Previous experience managing, leading and developing a security team.
• Strong knowledge of physical and site security.
• Experience managing security incidents and investigations.
• Knowledge and experience of access control, CCTV, alarms and wider security systems.
• Experience within a highly secure, regulated, high-value or operationally complex environment would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent people-management and leadership capabilities.
• A genuinely collaborative and team-focused management style.
• The ability to work independently while remaining closely connected to the wider business.
• Confidence to challenge existing practices when necessary while remaining pragmatic and solutions-focused.
• Strong judgement and decision-making capabilities.
• The ability to remain composed and make effective decisions under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive approach to identifying security risks and implementing improvements.

No specific degree or professional security qualification is required. The business is primarily interested in finding someone with the right combination of relevant security experience, leadership capability, judgement, communication skills and approach to teamwork.

Security Manager Package:

• £60,000 - £90,000 basic salary, depending on experience
