Job summary

Smart 1 Recruitment Limited is seeking a Security Engineer to install, service and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control across customer sites in the West Midlands. The role requires a proactive, can‑do attitude and the ability to work independently or in a team.

BS7858 screening and a full UK driving licence are essential, with some overnight stays. The position covers West Midlands and offers a permanent contract with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience installing, servicing and maintaining intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, commission and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems to current BS EN/PD standards.
• Diagnose faults across security disciplines and carry out repairs.
• Complete small works, system upgrades and equipment replacements as required.
• Work with the engineering team to meet deadlines and targets.
• Ensure all work is compliant with regulations and RAMS.
• Maintain documentation and compliance records.
• Participate in on‑call rota and occasional overnight stays.
• Attend meetings and follow company procedures.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and communication.
• Contribute to the company’s team ethos.
