Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install, service, commission and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems to current BS EN/PD standards.
• Diagnose faults across security disciplines and carry out repairs.
• Complete small works, system upgrades and equipment replacements as required.
• Work with the engineering team to meet deadlines and targets.
• Ensure all work is compliant with regulations and RAMS.
• Maintain documentation and compliance records.
• Participate in on‑call rota and occasional overnight stays.
• Attend meetings and follow company procedures.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and communication.
• Contribute to the company’s team ethos.

Job description

Leading Security Installation organiser seeks an experienced Security Engineer to install, service and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems across customer sites, ensuring full compliance with company and BS EN/PD standards.

Successful candidates will demonstrate extensive experience across security systems, a proactive “can do” attitude and the ability to work independently as well as within a wider engineering team. BS7858 security screening and a full UK driving licence are essential. Occasional overnight stays required.

The role covers the West Midlands area.

Duties of Security Engineer

• Install, service, commission and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems to current BS EN/PD standards
• Diagnose faults across all security disciplines and carry out effective repairs and corrective actions
• Complete small works, system upgrades and equipment replacements as required
• Work efficiently within the engineering team to ensure project deadlines and targets are achieved
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and compliant with industry regulations and RAMS
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports and compliance records
• Participate in the on‑call rota and be available for occasional overnight stays
• Attend company meetings and follow all company procedures
• Maintain exceptional levels of customer service and client communication
• Conduct all activities in a professional manner, supporting the wider workforce and contributing to the company’s “one team” ethos

Skills and Experience required

• Minimum 3 years’ experience installing, servicing and maintaining intruder alarms, CCTV and access control systems
• Proficiency with the following systems is desirable:
• Intruder: Texecom, Pyronix, Ajax, Galaxy
• CCTV: Dahua
• Access Control: Paxton
• Candidate must be prepared to undergo Security screening to BS7858 standard – essential
• A full UK driving licence – essential
• “Can do” attitude

Salary

Up to £50K + standby fee, overtime payments and overnight inconvenience fee.
