Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join a growing cybersecurity team in the UK. You’ll help protect a complex technology environment by monitoring threats, investigating incidents and performing root-cause analyses.

You’ll manage EDR, SIEM, firewalls, WAF and IAM security tools, develop automation, and contribute to cyber resilience initiatives across the business. The role requires 3+ years in security engineering and hands-on experience with Defender, Entra

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in Security Engineering or SecOps.
• Hands-on with Defender, Entra ID and SIEM/EDR.
• Strong IAM, vulnerability mgmt, and NGFW knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Monitor threats, investigate incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Manage and optimize EDR, SIEM, firewalls, WAF and vulnerability tools.

We’re looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join a growing cybersecurity team, helping protect a complex technology environment and strengthen its overall security.

The role:

• Monitor and investigate threats, respond to incidents and carry out root‑cause analysis.
• Manage and optimise EDR, SIEM, firewalls, WAF, email security and vulnerability management tools.
• Support IAM, MFA, SSO, PAM and Microsoft security technologies across the business.
• Develop security automation and contribute to wider initiatives focused on improving cyber resilience.

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in Security Engineering, SecOps or a similar role.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Defender, Entra ID, Intune, SIEM and EDR technologies.
• Strong understanding of IAM, vulnerability management, network security and next‑generation firewalls.
• Experience with PowerShell, KQL or similar; relevant security certifications are a bonus.
