Job summary

Carbon60 is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join the Network Operations team on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on supporting Stevenage site operations and extending expertise to the wider UK estate, working with security specialists and external partners to ensure stable, performant and secure network services.

The ideal candidate will have strong Cisco experience, familiarity with crypto technologies, and a track record of delivering secure network solutions within regulated

Qualifications

• Experience in secure or regulated network environments, including crypto technologies.
• Hands-on with Cisco Catalyst and ISE.
• Strong routing, switching, and fundamentals (OSI, OSPF, BGP, HSRP/VRRP, TCP/IP).
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux/RHEL and VMware.
• Exposure to SDA, authentication services and network security.
• Experience using monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG or Nagios.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites.
• Investigate, own and resolve network issues and risks.
• Support network improvement projects and wider initiatives.
• Collaborate with security teams on reporting, risk analysis and compliance.
• Liaise with service management to meet agreed SLAs.
• Support secure network environments and crypto technologies.
• Maintain network documentation and operational processes.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors to optimise service delivery.
