Job summary

Matchtech in Stevenage is seeking a DV Cleared Network Engineer to support a defence client on a 12‑month contract onsite. You will work on network infrastructure, security, service delivery and crypto management in a high‑security environment.

The role requires active DV clearance, CCNA/CCNP or equivalent, and hands-on experience with Cisco, Windows/Linux servers and monitoring tools. You will collaborate across teams to ensure resilient, compliant networking.

Qualifications

• Active DV clearance.
• Professional background in IT and network engineering.
• CCNA or CCNP certification, or equivalent.
• Crypto experience and crypto best practice.
• Knowledge of Cisco technologies and designs.
• Strong OSI model and protocols knowledge (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, HTTP/S, SSL).
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, VMware.
• Experience with monitoring and authentication services.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated network support at the Stevenage site, with Bolton and Bristol within scope.
• Support delivery, maintenance and improvement of network services.
• Own remediation of network issues using reports and intelligence.
• Support business initiatives as part of the network engineering team.
• Build relationships with partners and suppliers to optimise service.
• Work with security teams on reporting, risk analysis and network assurance.
• Collaborate with service management and network service teams to meet requirements.
• Work with crypto specialists on crypto management and technical support.
