Job summary

Kainos is a high-growth IT services company delivering digital technology solutions and agile software development across public and private sectors in the UK. As Security Controller, you will lead delivery of security initiatives and ensure projects comply with government and industry standards.

You will work with central and delivery teams, shaping security policies, auditing risks, and building a culture that prioritises safety and resilience.

Qualifications

• Current UK security clearance holder.
• Deep experience with BPSS/UKSV vetting processes.
• Experience creating and implementing physical and personnel security policies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
• Experience coaching security best practices.
• Experience in threat & risk management processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security policies, procedures and protocols.
• Maintain a security culture aligned with Kainos values.
• Communicate threats and actions to staff and partners.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
• Oversee aftercare activities and incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with IPSA and FSC schemes.
• Collaborate with Delivery Teams and managers to capture lessons learned.
• Manage customer security checks and onboarding requirements.
• Coordinate visits and inspections by government or contracting authorities.
