Job summary

Forsyth Barnes are partnering with a Nottingham based SaaS organisation to recruit Python developers for high-assurance security solutions. You will design, develop, and maintain Python applications, contribute to planning, documentation, and mentoring.

The role requires eligibility for security clearance, and you will be on-site in Nottingham 1–2 days per week. Salary is £50,000–£55,000 per year in a demanding, Agile environment with collaborative delivery across teams.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience developing software with Python.
• Experience working in iterative/Agile delivery environments.
• Ability to investigate complex issues and communicate findings.
• Willingness to mentor colleagues.
• Eligibility for security clearance.
• Available to work from the Nottingham site 1–2 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Python applications for high-assurance security solutions.
• Translate requirements into practical implementation plans, estimates, and deliverable work packages.
• Produce design records, technical documentation, training material, and supporting artefacts.
• Review code, documentation, and training content for quality and compliance.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Investigate customer-reported issues, analyse root causes, and provide third-line technical support.
• Research emerging approaches and recommend improvements to engineering methods and tools.
• Share technical insight with sales, marketing, project, and product colleagues.
• Collaborate across product and project functions to align technical and business goals.
• Discuss business risks, constraints, profitability, and the wider impact of technical choices.
