Job summary

Google's United Kingdom Sovereign Operations team delivers, operates and secures private cloud services and networks for critical customers. As a Network Operations Engineer, you will design, deploy and operate reliable, scalable networks in a Kubernetes-enabled private cloud environment, automating changes and monitoring health.

You will participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering to keep services up from inception to optimization in a high-security setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Security, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with IP networking, internet service providers, L2-L7 network protocols, BGP, or network troubleshooting.
• Experience with designing and implementing resilient, secure networks using a wide range of technologies.
• Active, or the ability to obtain, a DV UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engage and improve the life cycle of private/secure networks from inception and design, to qualification and validation, through deployment, operation and optimization.
• Assist Engineering and Operations teams in building an ecosystem of integration, empowering software automation to scale within private/secure networks.
• Work cross-functionally to design, develop, and validate product introductions of network and computing hardware, solutions, and technologies.
• Provide highly technical implementation and operational support in customer environments, including guidance on implementation feasibility of cross-product integrations.
