Job summary

Google LLC in London, UK is seeking a Security Platform Engineer to join the UK Security Operations team. You will design, build, and operate private-cloud security platforms focused on Kubernetes security and cloud-native tooling.

You will automate security controls, develop SIEM/logging pipelines, respond to incidents, and participate in an on-call rotation. The role requires a DV clearance or the ability to obtain it, 5+ years in security/platform engineering, and strong scripting and IaC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or platform engineering roles.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience with Kubernetes security including workload isolation, RBAC, network policies, and observability tools.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud security platform tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, CWPP).
• Develop and implement security monitoring and logging strategies.
• Investigate and analyse security incidents, identify root causes, and coordinate remediation.
• Perform forensic analysis to identify suspicious activity.
• Automate security tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
