Job summary

Google UK SecOps is seeking a Security Platform Engineer to design, build, and manage cloud-native security platforms with a focus on Kubernetes environments. You will develop scalable tooling, automate security controls, and enable robust detection and response across our private cloud deployments for critical customers.

You will work with Incident Response Engineers and platform teams to ensure security is integrated into infrastructure and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or platform engineering roles.
• Experience with Python, Go, or Bash scripting.
• Kubernetes security with RBAC, network policies, containerisation, orchestration, and observability tools (Falco, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD.
• DV UK security clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage cloud security platform tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, CWPP.
• Develop and implement security monitoring and logging strategies.
• Investigate and analyse security incidents; identify root causes and containment.
• Perform forensic analysis to identify suspicious activity.
• Automate security tasks and workflows to improve efficiency.
