Job summary

Thorn SDS Ltd in Hereford is seeking a Network Engineer to configure, manage and improve mission-critical network infrastructures in secure environments.

This is a full-time, on-site role with potential UK travel. You’ll work across routing, VLANs, cloud networking and automation, collaborating with multiple teams while maintaining high security standards and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and security.
• CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage and improve network environments across a wide range of technologies.
• Configure routers and switches to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and manage routing protocols for efficient data transmission.
• Design VLAN configurations and network segmentation.
• Work with network virtualization to enhance scalability and flexibility.
• Implement and manage cloud networking solutions.
• Develop automation scripts for network tasks and stay current with best practices.
• Produce network designs based on project requirements and standards.
• Deploy infrastructure through delivery phases and support end users.
