Job summary

WCC Group is seeking a versatile Labourer to support civil engineering and grounds maintenance projects. Your duties will include groundwork, drainage, and security fencing works, with occasional site duties for maintenance and restoration tasks.

You will handle excavations, drainage installations, and general site tasks while following RAMS and drawings. Valid site certifications and a clean licence are required; some travel may be necessary, with expenses paid when working away.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to undergo Security Clearance (SC) process.
• Abrasive Wheel training is required.
• CSCS/CPCS or NPORS card.
• Full clean driving licence is required.
• Safe use of cable avoidance tools training is required.
• Proven competence with Excavator 360.
• Proven competence with Telescopic Handler.
• Chainsaw Operator - NPTC certification is required.
• HGV Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general civil engineering, groundwork and infrastructure works.
• Undertake excavation, trenching, backfilling and ground preparation.
• Install and maintain drainage, ducting, chambers and associated infrastructure.
• Carry out concreting, kerbing, paving, tarmac and reinstatement works.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and small plant safely and competently.
• Assist with operation of excavators, dumpers and other site plant.
• Read and follow drawings, RAMS and site instructions.
• Identify and work safely around underground services.
• Carry out maintenance, repairs and remedial civil works.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and site safety.
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers and other site personnel.
• Report hazards, defects, incidents and any issues affecting the works.
• Complete relevant site documentation and daily records.
• Ensure all work is in line with health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
