Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Governance, Risk and Compliance minded security professional to lead our UK Secure Networks security assurance program. You will oversee a team of consultants, maintain assurance frameworks, and ensure compliance with MOD and UK government standards across cloud and on‑premise systems.

You will liaise with Global Security, UK security managers, and external stakeholders to drive risk assessments and procedural updates, including ISO27001 and Defence Cyber Certification

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security in a UK MOD-related environment.
• Familiar with UK MOD security standards (Def Stan 05-138, Cyber Security Model, Secure By Design).
• Excellent written and spoken English; able to justify security measures clearly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide a team of consultants fulfilling cloud security assurance for non-core cloud systems.
• Maintain and implement the Secure Networks Security Assurance framework with protocols and processes.
• Maintain secure network approvals including risk assessments, security arguments and compliance statements.
• Carry out and maintain security assessments for core Secure Networks cloud systems (e.g., Microsoft 365).
• Oversee Secure Networks elements of broader company certification to the Defence Cyber Certification.
• Conduct compliance audits to ensure teams perform required assurance activities.
• Stay up to date with MOD guidance and industry standards and apply to security assurance approaches.
• Provide security assurance guidance to the Secure Networks Team.
