Job summary

Avance Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking a Security Architect to define the security scope and architecture for global projects. You will provide a security service steer to programs and work closely with development, DevOps, and project teams to ensure compliance with security requirements.

You will stay current with cyber threats, drive risk assessments, and coordinate design reviews within the Security team, while ensuring owners are identified and residual risks managed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–6 years in a similar security architecture role.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and suppliers across time zones.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide security service steer to projects and programs.
• Ownership and definition of the security scope/architecture for a variety of projects deployed globally.
• Drive security requirements, architectures, patterns and approaches via the company’s processes.
• Day to day engagement with development teams to advise and consult on security matters.
• Work closely with project teams, DevOps teams to ensure solution complies with security requirements and that risks are appropriately managed.
• Remove impediments for the successful delivery of the security related initiatives.
• Provide technical security input as required by the security policy lead.
• Coordinate design/review activities with the Security team.
• Accountable for identifying and resolving key risks and issues to satisfy the business.
• Accountable for residual risk and owners.
• Conduct 1st line risk assessments for cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct 1st line supply chain assurance with suppliers in coordination with the Vendor Assurance team.
• Review vendor contracts to ensure appropriate clauses and addendums are included.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate cyber risks and enhance security posture.
• Stay up-to-date with threats and trends; recommend controls.
• Maintain documentation and reporting on security-related activities.
