Job summary

Charles Jenson Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Security Architect to lead Zero Trust initiatives across cloud and on‑prem environments in the UK. You will define strategy, drive security architecture, and advise executives on risk and compliance.

You will partner with CIOs, CISOs and security teams to implement IAM, network security, DevSecOps, and threat protection. Strong communication and hands‑on cloud experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Extensive, 12-15+ years in cybersecurity with leadership in security architecture.
• Proven success leading enterprise-scale Zero Trust programs.
• Experience securing architectures in Azure and AWS.
• Ability to advise executives, governance boards, and technical teams.
• Design IAM, network security, threat protection, compliance, and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise Zero Trust security strategy and roadmap across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Design Zero Trust architectures aligned with standards like NIST 800-207.
• Lead cloud security initiatives across Azure and AWS.
• Develop IAM frameworks with Entra ID, AWS IAM, PAM, SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Design Zero Trust network security using ZTNA, SASE, SDPs, and micro-segmentation.
• Provide architectural leadership for security operations and SIEM integrations (Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, CrowdStrike, Splunk).
• Manage security governance, risk assessments, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR compliance, and risk reviews.
• Promote security automation with IaC and automated controls.

Overview

As a Senior Zero Trust Security Architect, you'll be at the forefront of developing and executing a comprehensive security strategy, aligning cutting-edge architecture with business objectives. You'll partner closely with CIOs, CISOs, and security teams, driving cloud security modernization and embedding security-by-design principles into every project. Your expertise will empower our organization to confidently navigate an evolving threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise Zero Trust security strategy and roadmap, leading security transformation programs across Azure, AWS, hybrid cloud, and on-prem environments.
• Design and implement Zero Trust architectures aligned with industry standards like NIST 800-207, establishing security patterns for users, devices, applications, workloads, and data.
• Lead cloud security initiatives, creating secure landing zones, governance frameworks, and controls across Azure and AWS.
• Develop enterprise IAM frameworks incorporating Microsoft Entra ID, AWS IAM, Privileged Access Management, Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Conditional Access.
• Design Zero Trust Network Security architectures leveraging ZTNA, SASE, SDPs, and micro-segmentation strategies to reduce attack surface and lateral movement risks.
• Provide architectural leadership for security operations including monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and threat hunting. Drive integration with tools like Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, CrowdStrike Falcon, and Splunk.
• Manage security governance frameworks, oversee risk assessments, ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and lead security risk review processes.
• Promote security automation across software development with Infrastructure-as-Code practices and automation of security controls and vulnerability management.

Must-Have

• 12-15+ years of cybersecurity experience with at least 7+ years in security architecture leadership.
• Proven success leading enterprise-scale Zero Trust programs.
• Extensive experience securing and designing architectures within Azure and AWS clouds.
• Strong ability to advise senior executives, governance boards, and technical teams.
• Expertise in designing IAM, network security, threat protection, compliance, and DevSecOps.
• Technical skills with Microsoft Azure and Entra ID, AWS services, and security tools such as Defender, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, and Splunk.

Nice-to-Have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect, AWS Security Specialty, TOGAF, or SABSA.
• Experience with security standards and frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and GDPR.
• Leadership skills in managing global security teams and large transformation projects.
