Pulse Recruit is partnering with a prestigious university in London to hire a Security Analyst to strengthen their cybersecurity defenses and protect vital academic and research infrastructure.

This is a predominantly remote role with occasional visits (1-2 times per month) to the London office.

About the Role:

As a Security Analyst, you will play a key role in identifying, managing, and mitigating security risks across the university’s digital environment. You will implement security measures, monitor threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards, safeguarding the university’s data, systems, and reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse security events, incidents, and vulnerabilities across the university’s networks and systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and manage security audits to ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO27001, and other relevant standards.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of security solutions such as firewalls, SIEM tools, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection systems.
• Investigate security breaches, recommend remediation actions, and ensure timely incident response.
• Work with IT teams and departments to develop security policies, awareness training, and best practice procedures.
• Keep abreast of emerging security threats and help shape the university’s security strategy.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Security Analyst, Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat analysis, and incident management.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight), firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks including GDPR, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are highly desirable.
