Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Network Support Engineer in the Corsham area to support secure MILSATCOM networks and critical defence communications. You’ll provide advanced technical support for IP networks, oversee installation and configuration of new elements, and ensure compliance with security requirements.

A degree in Engineering and Cisco CCNA or equivalent are preferred, with SC clearance being a prerequisite.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering discipline.
• CCNA certification ideal or in progress.
• Experience designing and delivering IP networks.
• Knowledge of secure communications and MILSATCOM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to faults, network incidents and performance issues.
• Manage installation and configuration of new system elements.
• Test and commission new equipment and services.
• Ensure new services meet UK security requirements.
• Manage obsolescence to keep systems secure and supportable.
• Provide 3rd/4th line technical support to customer and MILSATCOM teams.
• Be part of on-call rota for fault diagnosis outside normal hours.
