Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Network Support Engineer to join its Mission Technologies team in Corsham, near Chippenham, Wiltshire. The role focuses on secure IP networking, fault management, and system upgrades within MILSATCOM networks.

You’ll work on site, support 37 hours per week, and contribute to critical defence capabilities. Experience in IP networking, Cisco accreditation, and knowledge of RF satellite tech are valued, with SC security clearance pursued.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent with demonstrable experience.
• CCNA certification ideal as a minimum.
• Experience designing and delivering IP networks.
• Knowledge of RF satellite communications is advantageous.
• Experience in telecoms or satellite communications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to faults, network incidents and performance issues.
• Manage installation and configuration of new system elements.
• Test and commission new equipment and services.
• Ensure services meet UK security requirements.
• Manage obsolescence to keep systems secure and compliant.
• Provide 3rd/4th line technical support to customers and MILSATCOM teams.
• Participate in an on-call rota outside normal hours.
