Job summary

Amey Ltd is seeking an experienced on-site Facilities Manager for HMP Long Lartin. The role leads hard FM delivery, oversees the estate, and develops the site team to ensure safe, compliant operations within a secure environment.

Standard hours are 39 per week, Monday to Friday, with on-call requirements for escalations. Benefits include free on-site parking, canteen facilities and access to an on-site gym.

Qualifications

• A recognised and relevant technical or facilities management qualification, ideally IWFM Level 3 or equivalent.
• Substantial experience leading Hard FM or estates services in a complex operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and the practical implementation of policies.
• Experience managing service delivery, KPIs, budgets and costs.
• Confident first-line people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation and strategic management of the estate on behalf of the client.
• Drive and maintain statutory and mandatory compliance across all areas of service delivery.
• Ensure hazards are identified and risk assessments completed to reduce or eliminate risk.
• Champion strong health and safety standards, ensuring colleagues understand and comply with policies and procedures.
• Carry out audits and spot checks to confirm that work delivered by direct employees and subcontractors meets the required quality standards.
• Manage performance against KPIs and ensure the team understands how its work contributes to successful service delivery.
• Lead, support and develop the site team, including first-line management and employment processes.
• Build effective relationships with HMPPS and other key stakeholders through clear, confident and professional communication.
• Manage site budgets, monitor profit and loss, and identify additional works opportunities.
• Support environmental management and local and business zero-carbon programmes.
• Maintain strong operational oversight of planned and reactive maintenance activity, ensuring work is completed safely and on time.
• Provide visible leadership and bring the resilience needed to succeed in a secure, operationally demanding environment.
