Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Belper, Derbyshire to design, develop and test embedded software and firmware for defence-grade hardware. You will work closely with hardware and systems engineers across the software development lifecycle to deliver reliable, high-performance code.

Qualifications

Strong C programming fundamentals and low-level software development.
Experience with embedded C and RTOS environments.
Firmware development for microcontrollers or embedded processors.
Knowledge of bare-metal programming and hardware integration.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain embedded software and firmware.
Develop low-level software for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
Work across bare-metal and RTOS environments.
Integrate hardware interfaces, drivers and communication protocols.
Debug and resolve software–hardware integration issues.
Write and execute unit tests, integration tests and verification activities.
Follow structured coding standards and participate in design/code reviews.
