Job summary

The UK Home Office seeks a Senior Cyber Security Risk Manager to design and embed Secure by Design as a framework for improving organisation-wide cyber security. You will monitor uptake and effectiveness, and make recommendations for continuous improvement across programmes and portfolios.

As a senior risk manager, you will ensure gate reviews include Secure by Design, raise security confidence on complex projects, and promote standardised templates and checklists.

Qualifications

• Overseeing risk reviews and developing risk treatment plans.
• Planning and delivering project-level activities.
• Adopting a structured approach to executing and documenting audits.
• Maintaining integrity of records to support audit trails.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Secure by Design activities are part of your organisation’s gate review life cycle so that security risks are addressed early and escalated properly.
• Help elevate projects with low security confidence for extra support or oversight.
• Promote a standardised approach to Secure by Design activities across project, programmes and portfolios.
• Encourage the use of templates, tools, and checklists to help teams apply Secure by Design principles consistently.
