Job summary

Network Rail in Scotland invites applications for a Permanent Full-Time Off Track Engineer based in Motherwell. You will plan, coordinate and optimise all section work activities to ensure safe, efficient delivery and compliance with safety standards.

You will produce Safe Systems of Work, manage access requests, support planning meetings, and maintain high-quality records across systems and maintenance documentation.

Scotland's Railway is part of this large family and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing the varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross border services and rural services. About the role

This is a Full-Tim e/ Permanent position

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating and optimising all agreed work activities within the section to ensure safe, efficient and compliant delivery. You will produce Safe Systems of Work, submit green zone access and isolation requests, and develop draft quarterly plans to support short¿ and medium¿term operational objectives. A key part of the role involves managing weekly Plan¿Do¿Review meetings and representing Section Managers at planning meetings, ensuring clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement.

You will also be accountable for maintaining high¿quality records by accurately updating systems, databases and infrastructure maintenance documentation. Through careful collation and management of planning and maintenance records, you will support informed decision¿making, performance monitoring and continuous improvement across the section.
