Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting for a Section Engineer to lead setting out and engineering activities on a major Lower Thames Crossing project. This hands-on, site-based role requires translating plans into safe, high-quality delivery across a defined section of works.
You will coach junior engineers, manage quality records, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards while tracking progress against KPIs and programmes.
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Section Engineer to join our £1.2 billion Lower Thames Crossing project, consisting of 43 bridges, including viaducts, 17km of complex Highways construction, utility diversions, and a scheme-wide, industry leading approach to carbon reduction. Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live work and play. As a Section Engineer you will take ownership of engineering activities across a defined section of works. This is a hands‑on site‑based role where you’ll help translate plans into safe, high‑quality delivery, supporting the project team with setting out, quality control, health and safety, programme management and commercial awareness.
