Job summary

Section Engineer – Structures

We’re seeking a Section Engineer with Structures experience for a major infrastructure project. The role is based at our Southam site. The Section Engineer manages junior engineers, assists the Sub Agent and supervises the site engineering team from construction to close out.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close out.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes and coordinate with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials.
• Manage the site setting‑out team and support the performance and development of Site Engineers.
• Identify and resolve technical problems on site in liaison with the Sub‑Agent.
• Monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure their works meet contractual requirements.
• Ensure the team has current information and resources to carry out their duties, and assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.

Qualifications & Skills

• HNC or Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE).
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
• Experience in structures.
• Own transport to attend site(s) in remote areas.
• Full driving licence.
• Competencies: SMSTS or SSSTS; CSCS – White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor.
