Randstad Construction & Property is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to lead setting out, quality control, HSE standards, and productivity on a project near Peterhead in Aberdeenshire. You will manage ACPs, RAMS, and weekly programmes, while reporting on costs and progress.

The role involves mentoring junior engineers, arranging permits, and ensuring compliance with contract documents and tolerances. UK-based candidates eligible to work in the UK are invited to apply.

Formación

• Proven experience carrying out complex setting out on civil infrastructure/construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Activity Control Plans (ACPs), specifications, contract documents, and construction tolerances.
• Practical working knowledge of RAMS creation, Permits to Work and site health and safety hazard controls.
• Experience working with 13-week stage programmes and weekly target setting.

Responsabilidades

• Engineering & Setting Out: Carry out complex setting out, establish primary setting out control, and mentor junior engineering staff on setting out techniques.
• Quality Assurance: Produce ACPs, maintain quality records, monitor tolerances, raise/manage NCRs and TQs.
• Health, Safety & Environment: Prepare RAMS, RAMS creation, and Permits to Work; manage safety procedures.
• Productivity & Planning: Develop weekly programmes aligned with stage plans, monitor KPIs, and communicate targets to workforce.
• Commercial Support: Collate weekly measures, reconcile plant and labour, monitor waste, and identify additional work items.

Job Title: Section Engineer

Location: Near Peterhead, Aberdeenshire (AB42 area / approx. 12 mins from Peterhead Town Centre)

Role Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our project delivery team near Peterhead. In this role, you will lead engineering controls, quality management, health and safety standards, productivity tracking, and commercial reporting across site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering & Setting Out: Carry out complex setting out, establish primary setting out control, and mentor junior engineering staff on setting out techniques.
• Quality Assurance: Produce Activity Control Plans (ACPs), maintain comprehensive quality records, monitor construction tolerances, and raise/manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Technical Queries (TQs).
• Health, Safety & Environment: Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RAMS), and Temporary Works Briefs; manage Permits to Work; and conduct short-term visitor inductions.
• Productivity & Planning: Develop weekly programmes aligned with stage programmes, monitor progress against KPIs, and communicate targets directly to the workforce.
• Commercial Support: Collate weekly measures, perform plant and labour reconciliations, monitor waste against budgets, and identify items of additional work for notifications.

Key Requirements & Experience

• Proven experience carrying out complex setting out and setting out control on civil infrastructure/construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Activity Control Plans (ACPs), specifications, contract documents, and construction tolerances.
• Practical working knowledge of Permit Systems, RAMS creation, and site health and safety hazard controls.
• Experience working with 13-week stage programmes and weekly target setting.
• Good understanding of key contract documentation, subcontractor terms, and supplier outputs.
