Job summary

Fusion People Ltd is seeking an experienced Section Engineer for a short-term contract in Longside, Aberdeen. You will oversee complex setting out, quality control, HSE compliance, tracking productivity, and commercial monitoring on site.

The role requires delivering ACPs, managing contractor documentation, and maintaining safety and quality standards across the project window from October 19, 2026 to January 29, 2027.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to carry out complex setting out.
• Experience producing Activity Control Plans (ACPs).
• Understanding of construction tolerances and contract specifications.
• Knowledge of hazard identification and permit systems.
• Familiar with 13-week stage programmes and related documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out complex setting out and provide primary setting out control.
• Produce ACPs, reference specifications, maintain quality records, raise NCRs/technical queries.
• Produce method statements, risk assessments, temporary works briefs, inductions, and manage incident reporting.
• Produce weekly progress programmes, monitor KPIs and identify additional works and subcontractor outputs.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Section Engineer for an upcoming contract based in Longside, Aberdeen, running from October 19, 2026, to January 29, 2027. In this role, you will play a key part in engineering control, quality management, health and safety compliance, productivity tracking, and commercial monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Control: Carry out complex setting out, provide primary setting out control, and coach subordinates in setting out techniques.
• Quality & Engineering: Produce Activity Control Plans (ACPs), actively reference specifications, maintain quality records, and raise Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Technical Queries.
• Health, Safety & Environment: Produce method statements and risk assessments, prepare temporary works briefs, conduct visitor inductions, and manage accident reporting and permit systems.
• Productivity & Commercial: Produce weekly programmes, measure progress against KPIs, monitor wastage against budget allowances, and identify additional works and subcontractor outputs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Core Experience: Proven ability to carry out complex setting out, experience producing Activity Control Plans, understanding of construction tolerances and contract specifications.
