Cover Supervisor for KS3/KS4 - Day to Day Supply Role

Burton Upon Trent

Earn up to £550 per week depening on experience

About the Role:

Connex Education are currently working very closely with a range of academies and schools based in Burton Upon Trent who are seeking regular support from Cover Supervisors. In this role you will have the opportunity to work across several schools, in a 40 minute radius to your home address. This gives the opportunity to experience a range of school environments as relief cover in the place of the class teacher. The work will always be provided for you by the qualified teacher, you will be responsible for promotion of learning, classroom management and ensuring completion of work left by the class teacher. This role is a casual relief role and involves day to day supply possibly in a variety of schools with the flexibility to work around your lifestyle.

For the Cover Supervisor role we have staggered start dates, you are able to start immediately, or later on in the school year. Once employed there will be opportunities for the rest of the academic year and in to the 2025/2026 academic year also; meaning you will have consistent work on offer during term time. This can provide flexibility in terms of working patterns to match your needs, whether this be a desire to work 1 to 5 days per week.

Person Specification:

  • Have some UK experience working with young people in either a school setting or a similar environment, i.e.- NCS / Sports coaching etc
  • Be confident in your ability to lead a class of children aged 11-16 years.
  • Be able to work well with challenging behaviour.
  • Hold strong communication skills both orally and written.
  • Punctual and organised
  • Willing to undergo continual professional training.
  • Be reliable and committed to working within an education environment
  • Able to work under pressure effectively and ‘think on your feet’
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic with a ‘can do attitude’ and good sense of humour.
  • Be able to commute to schools around Derbyshire and surrounding areas.
