Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Secondary Tutor in Matlock (DE4) to provide tailored one-to-one tuition, focusing on SEND/SEMH and other additional needs. The role supports secondary pupils, helps improve confidence and engagement, and requires QTS/PGCE credentials with DBS checks.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged students.
  • Strong knowledge of the secondary curriculum.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND/SEMH desirable.
  • QTS/PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel locally.

Secondary Tutor – Matlock (DE4)

Location: Matlock, DE4
Role Type: Part-Time, Term Time
Start Date: ASAP / September 2026

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Secondary Tutor to provide tailored educational support to students in the Matlock area. This rewarding role involves delivering high-quality, one-to-one tuition to learners who may require additional academic support due to SEND needs, SEMH needs, medical needs, or being out of mainstream education.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging and personalised tuition sessions in line with the student's learning needs.
  • Support secondary-aged pupils to improve confidence, attainment, and engagement with learning.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, families, and other professionals involved in the learner's education.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and attendance.
Requirements
  • Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged students.
