Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Secondary Tutor in Matlock (DE4) to provide tailored one-to-one tuition, focusing on SEND/SEMH and other additional needs. The role supports secondary pupils, helps improve confidence and engagement, and requires QTS/PGCE credentials with DBS checks.

Flexible hours and local travel are included. This part-time, term-time opportunity offers ongoing consultant support and a chance to make a meaningful difference in a student’s educational journey

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged students.
• Strong knowledge of the secondary curriculum.
• Experience supporting students with SEND/SEMH desirable.
• QTS/PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
• Enhanced DBS registered on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised tuition sessions in line with learning needs.
• Support secondary-aged pupils to improve confidence, attainment and engagement.
• Adapt teaching strategies to individual styles and abilities.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and professionals.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and attendance.
