Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Ashington
Salary: £84 - £108 per day (depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Daily Supply, Long Term

Are you passionate about helping students reach their full potential? GSL Education is looking for a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a fantastic secondary school in Ashington. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in students' learning and development.

About the Role:
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA), you'll support teachers and students in delivering engaging lessons. Your role will help create a positive and inclusive environment where every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities of a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

  1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students across different subjects.
  2. Help teachers with lesson preparation, classroom management, and teaching strategies.
  3. Foster a positive atmosphere that boosts students' confidence and encourages learning.
  4. Support students with varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  5. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.
  6. Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies to maintain a safe environment.

What We’re Looking for in a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

  1. Experience working with secondary students is preferred.
  2. Good knowledge of the secondary school curriculum and flexibility across subjects.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students and staff.
  4. A patient, proactive, and caring approach to supporting learners.

To work with GSL Education, you must:

  1. Have the right to work in the UK.
  2. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  3. Have an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
