Octavia House Schools invites applications for a Secondary Teacher to join a trauma-centred therapeutic secondary school in South Woodham, Essex. The role begins on 4 January 2027 and welcomes experienced colleagues from mainstream settings to broaden their practice.

You will deliver engaging lessons, foster a calm classroom, and participate in school life from breakfast to extracurricular activities, while tracking SEMH progress and reporting to families and placing authorities.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with current UK teaching status (QTS/PGCE).
• Ability to teach Secondary key stages with a curriculum focus.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, SEMH- aware practice.

Responsabilités

• Deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the OHS curriculum.
• Maintain a calm, secure classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Contribute to breakfast, break, lunch, assembly and extracurricular provision.
• Assess SEMH progress and prepare pupil reports for families and authorities.
• Support positive behaviour through a relationships-first approach.
