Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable educator with a passion for teaching secondary students?

GSL Education are currently seeking committed and flexible Secondary Teachers to work in a variety of supportive and thriving secondary schools across Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for both subject specialists and generalist teachers to work across Key Stages 3 to 5, depending on your experience and interests.

As a Secondary School Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet national curriculum standards, support student progress, and contribute positively to school life. We are currently looking for teachers in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science, as well as specialists in Humanities, MFL, Design & Technology, PE, and more.

Responsibilities of a Secondary Teacher:

• Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to your subject specialism and year groups
• Differentiate learning activities to support diverse learning needs
• Maintain a productive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor and assess student progress, offering clear feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons and share best practices
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Contribute to extra-curricular activities and school initiatives

Secondary School Teacher Qualifications:

• Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or PGCE preferred
• We also welcome applications from candidates with equivalent teaching qualifications or substantial experience teaching in UK secondary schools
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding
• Passionate about delivering outstanding education and improving student outcomes
• Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
