Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEN Teacher for a Romford-based SEN school. This full-time, long-term role offers continuity into September 2026 and an immediate start. You will deliver differentiated lessons and plan/assess to support pupils with a range of SEN.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS, have experience with secondary pupils in SEN, and collaborate with TAs, the SENCO and external professionals to raise achievement.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching secondary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Understands a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, MLD, Speech and Language Needs, and SEMH.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management using positive/restorative approaches.
  • Patient, resilient and committed to supporting young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Full planning, preparation and assessment responsibilities.
  • Deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons across the secondary curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of SEN.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor student progress through personalised learning targets and provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement.

Secondary SEN Teacher - Romford

A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Romford is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEN Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to continue into the new academic year from September 2026.

The successful candidate will teach a small class of secondary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that support each student's individual learning journey. The Role

  • Is patient, resilient and committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contributes positively to the wider school community.
