Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd invites qualified Secondary Supply Teachers to cover a variety of subjects across Bishop’s Stortford and surrounding areas. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons, maintain order, and support student engagement during cover lessons, ensuring safeguarding and school policies are followed.

Roles are full-time or part-time and paid weekly via PAYE. Ideal candidates hold QTS, possess strong classroom management, and can adapt quickly to different schools and year groups.

Secondary Supply Teachers – Full-time or Part-time, Flexible Roles, Starting ASAP

You will cover a range of subjects and year groups, ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences.

Duties as Secondary Supply Teacher:

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons across various subjects and year groups


• Maintain a calm and productive classroom environment


• Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies


• Support students’ learning and engagement during cover lessons


• Report back to permanent teaching staff on student progress and any issues encountered


• Uphold safeguarding and health and safety standards at all times

Ideal Secondary Supply Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
