Job description

Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistants to work with secondary and post 16 students in a well-structured special needs secondary school in either Wandsworth or Lambeth to start after Easter. These schools cater for students with autism, learning difficulties, communication difficulties, and sensory overload. Although students are secondary age, the curriculum is tailored to their cognitive needs and may learn at a lower level such as a primary level. These schools are looking for teaching assistants with or without experience, who are interested in working with special needs and keen to learn and make a difference to students' academic and life skills. As a teaching assistant, you will be working in class sizes of 8 - 14 students per class, working with a class teacher and collaboratively with other teaching assistants that include English, maths, drama, history, music, and PE, and also supporting students with Duke of Edinburgh.

The role:

  1. Working Monday to Friday
  2. Supporting secondary students within a class
  3. Working one to one with students
  4. Differentiating work to meet students' needs
  5. Assisting in cross-curricular lessons
  6. Supporting students within the community
  7. Helping within employability programs
  8. Managing behaviour due to sensory overload
  9. Working on a long-term basis

If you would like to be considered for these roles, then please either submit your application with an updated CV, including the borough you live in. Alternatively, you can email me your CV. Please reference the advert and also confirm the borough you live in.

In addition, I also have other schools in neighboring boroughs which are continuously recruiting.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
