Job summary

Senovo is recruiting for a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a pool of cover and contract opportunities across Newham, United Kingdom. The role involves supporting pupils with SEND in access to lessons and developing confidence and independence.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, PAYE rate £95–£115 per day, with the right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS checks required; Senovo handles compliance and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in school or related settings.
• Reliable, patient and able to maintain professional boundaries.
• Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS or willingness to complete compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide calm, consistent classroom, 1:1 or small-group support.
• Follow EHCPs and individual strategies set by teaching and SEN staff.
• Adapt resources and communication so pupils can participate and progress.
• Support positive behaviour, emotional regulation, safeguarding and wellbeing.
• Share useful observations with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral colleagues.
