Job summary

PK Education is seeking a Secondary SEND Learning Support Assistant in the Featherstone/Pontefract area. The role is full-time, temp-to-perm, with pay ranging from £98 to £115 per day, and hours 8:00am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Location is Featherstone/Pontefract, with term-time only schedule. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting secondary pupils with SEND, especially SEMH needs and challenging behaviours, and will be calm, consistent and able to build trust while maintaining

Qualifications

Experience supporting secondary-aged young people with SEND, particularly SEMH.
Calm, resilient and relationship-focused with strong boundaries.
Ability to build trust with pupils while maintaining professional standards.

Responsibilities

Supporting secondary-aged pupils both within lessons and specialist interventions
Building strong, positive and professional relationships with young people
Supporting pupils who may become dysregulated, disengaged or display challenging behaviour
Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Helping pupils re-engage with learning following difficult moments
Encouraging resilience, independence and positive engagement
Working closely with teaching and specialist support staff
Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professional boundaries
