  • Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, study skills, organisation and independent learning.

  • Prepare and support pupils for GCSEs, functional skills qualifications, assessments and other relevant examinations where appropriate.

  • Assess each young person's learning needs and establish appropriate objectives.

  • Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons aligned with individual learning plans and, where appropriate, the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.

  • Adapt teaching approaches, resources and strategies to suit each pupil's age, ability, developmental stage and individual needs.

  • Build positive relationships and develop pupils' confidence, independence, motivation and engagement with education.

  • Support pupils who may have experienced disrupted education, school attendance difficulties or barriers to accessing mainstream education.

  • Monitor progress and provide clear reports on learning, engagement and outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, SENCOs and other professionals.

  • Create a safe, supportive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  • Follow appropriate safeguarding and SEND procedures.

  • Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.

  • A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's and young people's welfare.

  • An Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete the required process.
