Support young people with needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs, SEMH and other learning difficulties.

Teach across the secondary curriculum, with opportunities to specialise in subjects such as English, maths, science, humanities, modern foreign languages and other GCSE subjects.

Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, study skills, organisation and independent learning.

Prepare and support pupils for GCSEs, functional skills qualifications, assessments and other relevant examinations where appropriate.

Assess each young person's learning needs and establish appropriate objectives.

Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons aligned with individual learning plans and, where appropriate, the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.

Adapt teaching approaches, resources and strategies to suit each pupil's age, ability, developmental stage and individual needs.

Build positive relationships and develop pupils' confidence, independence, motivation and engagement with education.

Support pupils who may have experienced disrupted education, school attendance difficulties or barriers to accessing mainstream education.

Monitor progress and provide clear reports on learning, engagement and outcomes.

Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, SENCOs and other professionals.

Create a safe, supportive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Follow appropriate safeguarding and SEND procedures.

A good understanding of different SEN needs and effective secondary teaching strategies.

The ability to make learning engaging, accessible and appropriate for each pupil's age and ability.

Experience supporting young people with exam preparation, revision, study skills or independent learning.

Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.

A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's and young people's welfare.

An Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete the required process.
