Secondary School Sociology Teacher – Birmingham (Full-Time, Ongoing)
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: After Easter
Contract Type: Full-Time, Ongoing (Potential to extend)
Salary: £150 – £230 per day (based on experience)

Are you a passionate and experienced Secondary School Sociology Teacher looking for your next exciting opportunity? A highly regarded secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Sociology Teacher to join their team after the Easter break. This is a full-time, ongoing position that will run until the end of the academic year, with strong potential for extension.

Whether you’re looking to develop your career or make a meaningful impact on students’ learning journeys, this could be the perfect teaching role for you!

Key Requirements:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has recent (within the last 2 years) experience teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students (11–16 years old)
  • Is fully familiar with the UK Sociology curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Is eligible to work in the UK
  • Has a current enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply
  • Can confidently plan and deliver engaging Sociology lessons and carry out marking responsibilities

Your Role Will Include:

  • Creating and delivering inspiring and well-structured Sociology lessons
  • Supporting students in developing key literacy and analytical skills
  • Tailoring lessons to suit mixed-ability groups
  • Contributing to assessment, marking, and reporting
  • Working as part of a committed and supportive Maths department
