Job summary

Philosophy Education LTD. in Chatham is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school starting September/October 2026.

The role focuses on assisting pupils with SEND, supporting teachers, and helping students access the curriculum within a supportive team. The successful candidate will have experience with SEND, strong communication, patience and resilience, and will contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND, ideally in a secondary school.
• Ability to adapt resources to individual needs and reinforce learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND both within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs.
• Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence.
• Promote positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour policy.
• Work with teachers and the SEND team to monitor progress.
• Provide pastoral support and help create a safe learning environment.
• Support students during breaktimes and school activities.
