Job summary

Philosophy Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming Bromley secondary school from September 2026. The role focuses on supporting students with SEND, delivering inclusive lessons, and adapting resources to individual needs, within a collaborative SEND team.

You will work closely with teachers to monitor progress, provide pastoral support, and help create a safe learning environment while upholding safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school environment.
• Experience supporting students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties, is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND both within the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs.
• Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence.
• Promote positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour policy.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SEND team and external professionals.
• Assist with monitoring student progress and recording observations.
• Provide pastoral support and help create a safe, positive learning environment.
• Support students during breaktimes, educational visits and school activities where required.
