Job summary

The role involves supporting the Food Technology department with practical lessons, preparing ingredients and equipment, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety in a school kitchen. The successful candidate will hold a degree-level qualification in a related field and have prior experience as a Food Technician or in a similar role, with strong organisational skills and reliability.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree-level qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a closely related subject.
• Have previous experience as a Food Technician or in a similar practical food preparation/educational support role.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Be reliable, well organised and able to work independently and with teaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, equipment and resources for practical Food Technology lessons.
• Support teachers with practical classroom activities and lesson delivery.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored correctly.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering materials.
